FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • GTO means we don’t plant microgreens based on past sales data, hoping to sell them when they mature. We only grow based on real orders placed by our customers. Why? GTO ensures customers receive exactly what they want. Meanwhile, Piedmont Microgreens cuts down on unsold microgreens.

  • A standing or recurring order is a consistent order we deliver every week. You don’t have to confirm the order or remind us to bring your product. We’ll grow your order to have it ready every week. You can change or cancel your order if your business demands change.

We do not allow standing orders on a cadence other than weekly. For example, we don’t allow for every-other-week or every-third-week standing orders. Orders of this type add too much logistical complexity to our operation. You can order in three ways. (i) Set up a weekly standing order, (ii) place one-off orders ahead of time, or (iii) make last-minute orders through the Last Call email.

  • The Last Call is an email we send out every Monday at noon. It lists the varieties and volumes we expect to have in excess that week. This product surplus is what we expect to have left after we fill our clients' standing orders. We made the Last Call for last-minute orders. Now, you can order without waiting for the usual lead time in a grown-to-order model.

If you want us to add you to the Last Call email, please email Garrett - garrett@piedmontmicrogreens.com. If you want to order from the Last Call list, please reply to the Last Call email with what you want. We’ll let you know if we can accommodate the order.

  • If you want to place a new order, we need to know what products you want and the quantity for each. We also need the delivery frequency and when you want the first delivery. For example, "I want to order two onion containers and three Nutrition Mix each week. The first delivery should be on Friday, August 30th."

If you want a one-off order for an event, please reach out well in advance. We'll need enough time to grow your order. The longest-growing crop on our menu takes four weeks. Depending on what you want for the order, we'll need a four-week lead time. Contact Garrett to place the order. Please tell us what varieties and quantities you want, as well as the date for the event. We'll coordinate a delivery date.

To change an existing order, we’ll need similar information. What new varieties and quantities do you want? What delivery date should the change take place?

If you want to cancel an existing order, we need to know when you’d like the last delivery for the current order. The cutoff time for canceling an order or skipping a week is 48 hours before delivery. If you're a wholesaler with a large standing order, you're expected to take all product currently in production. We'll work with you on a case-by-case basis if you want to cancel or skip an order.

  • The heartier varieties, like shoots, will last at least two to three weeks. Most varieties will last 10 to 14 days. We frequently hear about and see our microgreens staying fresh for three to four weeks or longer.

Basil is the exception; basil will only last 6-9 days.
